Terms of Service

Terms for using Booming Music, including open-source licensing, local files, third-party services, and app availability.

Effective date: 2026-06-09

Overview

These Terms apply to the Booming Music mobile application. Booming Music is provided by Christians Martínez Alvarado. The Booming Music application is referred to as the "Application".

By using the Application, you agree to these Terms where applicable by law.

Open-source license

Booming Music is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later. These Terms do not limit the rights granted to you by that license.

Application features

The Application is a local music player. It may be used for music playback, library browsing, playlists, lyrics, artwork, tag editing, equalizer settings, backups, exports, widgets, Android Auto support, update checks, and optional integrations such as Last.fm and ListenBrainz.

Your content and accounts

You are responsible for the music files, lyrics, artwork, metadata, playlists, backups, exports, and third-party accounts that you use with the Application. Booming Music does not provide, sell, license, or verify rights to music, lyrics, artwork, or other third-party content.

Third-party services

Some features may use third-party services for lyrics, artwork, metadata, scrobbling, updates, translations, donations, or distribution. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. They may change, become unavailable, reject requests, or stop working with the Application.

Files, backups, and app data

The Application may read, edit, export, import, or back up files and app data when you use those features. You should keep your own backups of important files and settings. The developer is not responsible for lost, damaged, overwritten, incompatible, or unrecoverable files or app data, except where the law does not allow that limitation.

No hosted service

The Application does not provide a Booming Music-hosted account system, paid subscription system, cloud sync service, hosted user-content platform, or content moderation system.

Availability and compatibility

The Application is provided "as is" and "as available". The developer does not guarantee that it will work on every device, Android version, file type, audio system, distribution channel, or third-party service.

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages, or for loss of data, files, metadata, lyrics, artwork, playlists, settings, backups, exports, third-party account data, compatibility, or service availability.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Changes

The Application and these Terms may change over time. Updated Terms will be made available with a new effective date. If you do not agree with the Terms, you should stop using the Application.

Privacy

The Application's privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
