Privacy Policy

How Booming Music handles local app data, online features, third-party integrations, and user choices.

Effective date: 2026-06-09

Overview

This privacy policy applies to the Booming Music mobile application and related app functionality. Booming Music is provided by Christians Martínez Alvarado. The Booming Music application is referred to as the "Application".

Booming Music is a local music player. Its core functionality is designed to work on your device. The Application does not contain advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs, and it does not automatically upload usage statistics or crash reports to the developer. The Application does not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on users.

Information processed by the Application

To provide music playback and library features, the Application processes music files and related metadata stored on your device. This may include song titles, artist names, album names, genres, duration, file paths, file size, modification dates, album artwork, playlists, queue data, playback history, play counts, skip counts, lyrics, equalizer settings, app settings, custom artwork, and other data required for the features you use.

This information is stored locally on your device. Booming Music does not operate a central user account system and the developer does not automatically receive your local music library, playlists, listening history, or settings.

Depending on your Android settings, some local Application data may be included in Android's system backup functionality. The availability, storage location, retention, and deletion of such backups are controlled by the operating system, your device settings, and your backup provider.

Permissions

The Application may request Android permissions that are necessary for its features. Media permissions are used to access music and image files on your device. Notification permissions are used to show playback, update, or download notifications. Bluetooth and audio-related permissions are used for playback and audio output behavior. Internet access is used for online features such as lyrics, artwork, metadata, scrobbling, and update checks. Storage permissions on older Android versions may be used for reading, writing, exporting, or editing files. Exact alarm permission may be used for the sleep timer.

If you deny a permission, the related feature may not work, but the rest of the Application may remain usable where technically possible.

Online features and third-party services

Some features use an internet connection. When these features are used, technical connection data such as your IP address, device network information, request headers, and similar protocol data may be processed by the relevant third-party service in order to answer the request.

Some online features are available depending on the app build and user settings. When these features are used, the Application may send music metadata such as song title, artist name, album name, duration, or playback timestamp to external services. These services may be used for lyrics, artist images, album artwork, music metadata, update checks, or similar app functionality. The Application may also contact app distribution or source hosting services to check for new releases or download updates, depending on the build and settings you use.

The Application may support account-based integrations such as Last.fm and ListenBrainz. If you choose to connect such a service, the Application may send the information required by that service, such as authentication data, session tokens, song title, artist name, album name, and playback timestamps. These integrations are optional and are used only to provide the connected service's functionality, such as scrobbling or now-playing updates.

Third-party services may operate in different countries and process data under their own privacy policies. The developer does not control the privacy practices of these services.

Crash reports

If the Application crashes, a crash report or log may be generated and stored locally on your device. Crash reports are not automatically uploaded by the Application. You may choose to copy, share, or submit a crash report, for example when reporting an issue. If you share a crash report, it may contain technical information about the crash and your device or app environment.

Backups, exports, and shared files

The Application may allow you to export playlists, create backups, edit tags, save lyrics, import custom fonts, or share files. These actions are controlled by you. If you choose a cloud storage provider, another app, or another external destination, the data is handled by that destination according to its own terms and privacy policy.

Purpose and legal basis

The Application processes local data to provide the features requested by the user, including music playback, library management, playlists, lyrics, artwork, audio settings, backups, exports, and app configuration.

To the extent privacy laws such as the GDPR apply to data processed by the developer, the legal basis depends on the feature used.

Necessary app functionality may be provided to perform the features requested by the user. Online integrations, account connections, crash report sharing, backups, exports, and similar user-triggered actions are based on the user's request and, where required, the user's consent.

You can stop optional processing by disabling the relevant feature, disconnecting the service, revoking Android permissions, clearing app data, or uninstalling the Application.

Retention

Local Application data remains on your device until it is deleted by you, removed through app functionality, overwritten during normal app use, cleared through Android settings, or removed when the Application is uninstalled. Data stored in Android system backups may remain according to your device and backup provider settings.

Data processed by third-party services is retained according to the privacy policies and account settings of those services. The developer cannot delete data stored by independent third-party services on your behalf unless the developer separately controls that data.

If you contact the developer directly by email or another external channel, the information you provide may be retained as long as necessary to respond to your request, maintain project records, resolve issues, or comply with legal obligations.

Children

The Application is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect children's personal information through normal app use.

Security

The Application stores its app data on the device using Android's normal application storage and permission systems. Optional service credentials or tokens may be stored locally for the connected feature. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but the Application is designed to limit data processing to what is needed for its features.

Users are responsible for the security of their own device, Android account, backups, connected third-party accounts, and any external storage or sharing destination they choose.

User choices and rights

You can control many forms of processing directly through the Application, Android permissions, connected service settings, backup settings, and uninstall or clear-data options.

Where applicable law grants you privacy rights, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal data controlled by the developer. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

For data stored only on your device, the developer may not be able to access, correct, export, or delete that data for you. You can manage local data through the Application, Android settings, backup settings, or by uninstalling the Application.

For data held by third-party services, you should contact the relevant third-party service or use that service's account and privacy controls.

Changes to this policy

The developer may update this privacy policy when the Application's functionality, permissions, storage behavior, network integrations, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be made available with a new effective date.
